The Insurance Council of Australia (ICA) board has appointed Tracey Bryan, the incoming Lloyd’s General Representative in Australia, as a non-executive director. Tracey’s tenure commenced in April.

Replacing Chris Mackinnon, who was part of the ICA Board since 2017, Tracey brings a wealth of experience and leadership from the insurance sector. Holding a dual role as Lloyd’s General Representative in Australia and the Head of Regulatory Affairs & Compliance Asia Pacific, Tracey's multifaceted expertise promises a dynamic contribution to the ICA’s strategic direction.

With over two decades of industry experience, her professional journey epitomises excellence and commitment. Having managed claims and dispute resolution teams, conducted risk assessments, and spearheaded legislative development initiatives, her appointment underscores a commitment to fostering innovation and resilience within the Australian insurance landscape.

ICA President Nick Hawkins welcomed Tracey, while bidding farewell to Chris Mackinnon, who assumes the role of Lloyd’s Regional Director for Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa. Hawkins lauded Mackinnon’s invaluable contributions, highlighting his global perspective and adeptness in navigating diverse insurance landscapes.

Hawkins remarked, “I welcome Tracey to the ICA Board as we bid farewell to Chris and wish him luck on his new role as Lloyd’s Regional Director for Asia Pacific, Middle East, and Africa. Chris has contributed a wealth of experience and provided insights on the global insurance market and reinsurance solutions for a wide variety of risks. We look forward to working with Tracey and to continue our valued relationship with Lloyd’s,” he said.

Tracey is also a Director on the Board of Lloyd’s subsidiaries in Australia, Japan, Dubai and Lloyd’s Branch Executive Committee in India. She has been a member of the two previous ICA Code Review Committees.
