The insurance broking profession's flagship event will kick off this Sunday, October 20, at the Adelaide Convention Centre.

The NIBA Convention, running over two and a half days from October 20-22, is set to attract around 800 delegates. It will feature 51 speakers across 21 sessions and host over 85+ exhibitors. This year's event promises to be an unmissable opportunity to engage with the breadth and diversity of the broking profession and the wider insurance sector, with industry leaders addressing the future of insurance. We are thrilled to announce that the event is sold out.

NIBA President Gary Okely highlighted the event's significance.

"The NIBA Convention is the broking profession’s flagship event. It is the meeting place for brokers of all sizes and geographies to collaborate, learn, and build stronger networks,” Gary said.

The Convention is also a platform to recognise and celebrate the best talent and top performers over the past twelve months in the broking profession and insurance, showcasing the sector’s commitment to professionalism. There are eight award winners to be unveiled, including the Vero-partnered 2024 NIBA Young Broker of the Year, the CGU-partnered NIBA Broker of the Year, the Sedgwick-partnered 2024 NIBA Claims Broker of the Year, the Liberty Specialty Markets-partnered 2024 NIBA Community Excellence Member of the Year, the 2024 Large General Insurer of the Year, the 2024 Specialty Insurer of the Year, the 2024 Underwriting Agency of the Year, and finally, the 2024 Lex McKeown Trophy recipient.

NIBA CEO Richard Klipin expressed his excitement about the upcoming Convention.

"The NIBA Convention is the one place where the community comes together as the one united voice of the sector," Richard said.

"It's a platform for our insurance broking profession to showcase its commitment to uphold the highest standards of professionalism."

The event will officially commence with the NIBA CGU Welcome Function, setting the tone for the action-packed two-and-a-half days of the Convention, which promises to explore key future trends and critical issues facing insurance professionals today.

The NIBA Convention is the professional gathering of the breadth and diversity of the broking profession as well as the wider insurance community that serves all Australians. The role of an insurance broker is to be a trusted partner, helping Australian families, communities and businesses to manage risk and thrive.
