About the Award

The Community Excellence Member of the Year Award recognises a NIBA Member who has made an exceptional effort in helping their clients or positively contributing to their community.

From standing beside clients during their toughest moments after floods and natural disasters to giving back through local charities, events and community initiatives, brokers make a meaningful impact where it matters most. 

Supported by Liberty, the award underlines the importance of Members’ contributions that go beyond their regular work responsibilities and to highlight the value of charity and community service.

The Award is a national award.

Key Dates

Entrants must be available to participate in their state’s Award Panel Interview and Gala Lunch, as well as all other award activities as outlined below.

To be eligible, nominees must meet the following:
  • Be a member of NIBA
  • Be available for all the key dates outlined
Previous entrants and winners:
  • Past entrants to the award can re-enter.
  • Previous winners will not be eligible for the award.

Must be able to demonstrate a combination of:

  • Claims advocacy in action
  • Technical competence in insurance as applied to Claims
  • Strength of client and underwriter relationships
  • Improvement in claims process and practice, leading to better client outcomes.
