Target Audience

This workshop is designed for insurance brokers, claims professionals, and industry stakeholders involved in property insurance and claims management. It will be particularly valuable for those supporting clients through property losses, including brokers working across commercial and domestic portfolios, as well as professionals collaborating with insurers, adjusters, builders, and restoration providers.

Whether you are early in your career or an experienced practitioner, this session will provide both foundational understanding and deeper practical insights into managing property claims effectively.

Overview

Property claims are often complex, time-sensitive, and highly influenced by early decisions. This interactive workshop explores the full lifecycle of a property claim, equipping attendees with the knowledge and practical strategies needed to navigate claims with confidence and achieve better outcomes for clients.

Through a combination of expert presentations, real-world case studies, and facilitated discussion, the session will unpack the roles of key stakeholders involved in property claims, including insurers, loss adjusters, make-safe providers, restorers, and builders. Attendees will gain clarity on how these parties interact and how brokers can play a pivotal role in guiding the process.

A key focus of the workshop will be the “first 48 hours” following a loss. Using practical examples, the session will explore the critical decisions that can determine the success or failure of a claim.

The workshop will also examine how insurers investigate and assess claims, how to manage policyholder expectations during challenging circumstances, and how brokers can proactively prepare clients before a loss occurs.
