The Masterclass is designed for insurance professionals from across the industry and at all career stages, bringing together Tasmania's insurance community for an afternoon of learning, discussion and connection.

Overview

Bringing together insurance professionals from across Tasmania, the NIBA & AILA General Insurance Masterclass is a half-day educational and networking event designed to explore the issues, challenges and opportunities shaping the general insurance industry today.

Delivered collaboratively by the National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) and Australian Insurance Law Association (AILA), the Masterclass will bring together expertise from across the insurance ecosystem – creating an opportunity for brokers, insurers, claims professionals, legal professionals, service providers and emerging industry talent to learn from one another and connect face-to-face.

Through a dynamic program of expert presentations and panel discussions, the Masterclass will explore some of the industry's most relevant conversations. Katrina Shanks, Chief Executive Officer of ANZIIF, will share insights into the key issues influencing the insurance industry, while Jenny Bax, CEO of UAC, will explore The Insurance Evolution – From Certainty to Complexity, sharing her perspective on the changing insurance landscape and what this evolution means for the industry.

The program will also take attendees through the Life Cycle of a Claim, bringing together a multidisciplinary Tasmanian panel to explore a claim from lodgement through to resolution. The discussion will highlight the different roles, perspectives and challenges involved throughout the claims journey, while considering some of the broader issues influencing claims outcomes today.

To close the masterclass, a lively Generational Debate will bring different generations of insurance professionals together to explore how the industry is evolving and what its future could look like. With contrasting perspectives and experiences on the table, the session promises to spark conversation and provide an engaging finale to the day's learning.

The conversation will then continue over networking drinks, giving attendees the opportunity to connect with colleagues and peers from across Tasmania's insurance community, exchange perspectives from the day and build new industry relationships.

The result is an afternoon of practical learning, fresh perspectives and meaningful industry connection – providing participants with insights they can take back to their organisations and a broader understanding of the forces shaping the future of general insurance.
