2026 NIBA Convention Sells Out with More Than 1,000 Delegates

Media Release

With more than 1,000 delegates registered, the 2026 NIBA Convention is officially sold out, up from 890 delegates in 2025.

Running from Sunday 18 to Tuesday 20 October at RACV Royal Pines on the Gold Coast, the Convention brings together 70 speakers across more than 30 sessions, 119 exhibitors, and eight awards, 44 finalists.

NIBA CEO Richard Klipin said the sell-out reflected the profession’s commitment to coming together.

“Crossing 1,000 delegates shows how much value brokers and their partners place on meeting face to face, learning from each other and working through the issues that matter to their clients. This year we’ve also built a dedicated pathway for young professionals, with a focus on their professional development and on bringing new talent into broking. Thank you to our delegates, partners, exhibitors and speakers for making this year’s Convention possible,” Richard said.

Final 2027 Code of Practice

On Monday 19 October, NIBA will release the final version of the 2027 Insurance Brokers Code of Practice, which takes effect from 1 January 2027.

“The Code sets out the standards brokers commit to in serving their clients. Releasing the final version at the Convention gives members the chance to engage with it directly, with time to prepare before it takes effect in January,” NIBA President Nick Cook said.

New Research on Technology and AI

On Tuesday 20 October, NIBA will launch new research on the impact of technology and AI on the broking profession.

The research builds on NIBA’s report Ready or Reacting? Shaping the Future of the Broking Profession, released at last year’s Convention, in which brokers identified technology and AI as the top disruptor facing the profession over the coming decade.

“Our members told us technology and AI are the biggest forces that will shape their businesses over the next ten years. This research gives brokers evidence on how those changes are playing out and what they mean for the advice and service clients receive,” Richard said.

A Pathway for Young Professionals

The 2026 Convention places a dedicated focus on young professionals, reflecting NIBA’s commitment to developing the next generation of brokers and attracting new talent into the profession.

The program includes opportunities for emerging professionals to build their skills, expand their networks and connect with experienced brokers and industry leaders across the sector.

“Supporting young professionals is central to the future of broking. By investing in their development and showing what a career in broking offers, we can bring more talented people into the profession and help them build long, rewarding careers serving their clients and communities,” Nick said.

Recognising Excellence

Eight awards will be presented across the broking profession and insurance sector.
