Beyond the Ballot – NIBAʼs Election Breakfast to Unpack Whatʼs Ahead for Insurance

Media Release

With Australia preparing to head to the polls next month, the National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) will host an exclusive pre-election breakfast on Thursday, 1 May at Sydneyʼs Fullerton Hotel, spotlighting the critical economic and political issues shaping the future of insurance in Australia.

‘NIBAʼs Election Breakfast: Whatʼs at Stake for Insuranceʼ features prominent political and industry voices, including NSW Liberal Senator Andrew Bragg, Independent MP for Warringah Zali Steggall, and respected industry experts the Hon. Mick Veitch and Leigh Moran from Counsel House.

With growing uncertainty impacting the global economic landscape, including cost of living challenges, supply chain instability and geopolitical tensions, the insurance sector sits at the intersection of risk and resilience. This event offers a timely platform to understand what Australiaʼs post-election landscape might look like for Australian families, businesses and communities.

NIBA CEO Richard Klipin said the breakfast is an important opportunity to hear directly from key political decision-makers.

“The upcoming election will help shape Australiaʼs economic direction. This breakfast is a unique opportunity to hear directly from the political leaders and experts who will influence the future of our sector,” Klipin said.

The event will also offer a rare opportunity to get a comprehensive update about the state of the market and the major drivers shaping the insurance sector in this election and beyond.

NIBA President Nick Cook emphasised the importance of strong political engagement for the insurance broking profession.

“Engaging with political stakeholders is key to ensuring that our voice as the insurance broking profession is part of the national conversation. This breakfast helps position our profession at the tablelistening, contributing and preparing for whatʼs ahead. Itʼs an unmissable event for anyone from the insurance sector looking to understand the evolving landscape,” Cook said.

A sit-down breakfast will be served from 7.30am, with the formal proceedings running from 7.50 to 9.30am AEST. Tickets are available now.
