NIBA Announces Finalists for the 2026 Claims Broker of the Year

 The National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) is pleased to announce the finalists for the 2026 NIBA Claims Broker of the Year, proudly supported by Sedgwick.

This award celebrates the outstanding contributions of NIBA members working in claims. As highlighted in the Insurance Brokers Code of Practice, brokers play a critical role in collaborating with insurers and clients on claims handling and management. The award recognises those who have consistently demonstrated excellence in this area of expertise.

The 2026 finalists are:

• Jack O'Mahony, Lockton

• Maree Solvyns, Gallagher

• Robert Krleski, Marsh

According to NIBA’s client research report, Complexity to Clarity: The Broker Advantage, 95% of clients view brokers as critical to claims resolution, and 98% report their claims have been successfully resolved.

When a claim is lodged, the value of good broking becomes tangible. A broker who knows the policy, presses the case, and stands in the client's corner can be the difference between a drawn-out dispute and a fair, timely settlement — helping people and busi nesses recover and move forward.

From going above and beyond for their clients, to acting as trusted partners who understand and anticipate what those clients need, to applying innovation in claims handling when communities are hit by severe weather, this year's finalists have used their claims expertise to protect financial interests and to provide reassurance and confidence when it matters most.

NIBA CEO Richard Klipin congratulated the finalists. "Claims is where the value of broking is felt most directly by clients. Each of these finalists has guided clients through the process with skill, professionalism and genuine care, and we're proud to rec ognise the difference they make," Richard said.

The 2026 NIBA Claims Broker of the Year will be announced at the upcoming NIBA Convention, taking place from 18-20 October at the RACV Royal Pines on the Gold Coast.
