NIBA welcomes new Shadow Minister for Financial Services
The National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) has welcomed the appointment of Pat Conaghan MP as Shadow Assistant Treasurer and Shadow Minister for Financial Services.
NIBA CEO Richard Klipin said the association looks forward to engaging with the newly formed Shadow Cabinet on policy priorities that are central to the insurance broking profession and the broader risk and financial services landscape.
“Mr Conaghan brings valuable experience and a strong understanding of regional and small business communities to the financial services portfolio,” said NIBA CEO Richard Klipin. “We welcome his appointment and look forward to working together on policy settings that promote a strong, competitive and trusted insurance market.”
Insurance brokers play a vital role in ensuring that all Australians have access to quality risk advice and appropriate cover. NIBA is committed to working with all sides of government to ensure a well-functioning, accessible and competitive insurance market, underpinned by professional advice, that delivers value for consumers and supports national resilience.
NIBA also acknowledges the contribution of the Hon Luke Howarth, who previously held the portfolio. “We thank Mr Howarth for his engagement with the profession and wish him well in his future endeavours,” Mr Klipin said.
