NIBA Welcomes New Shadow Minister for Financial Services
The National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) has welcomed the appointment of the Hon Kevin Hogan MP as Shadow Assistant Treasurer and Shadow Minister for Financial Services.
NIBA CEO Richard Klipin said the association looks forward to engaging with Mr Hogan on policy priorities that are central to the insurance broking profession and the broader risk and financial services landscape.
“We welcome Mr Hoganʼs appointment and look forward to working together on the policy settings that matter most to insurance brokers, their clients, and the communities they serve,” Mr Klipin said.
Insurance brokers play a vital role in ensuring that all Australians have access to quality risk advice and appropriate cover. In flood-affected and disaster-prone regions in particular, brokers are on the ground supporting clients through claims processes, navigating complex policy conditions, and advocating for fair outcomes when it matters most.
NIBA also acknowledges the significant contribution of Mr Pat Conaghan MP, who previously held the portfolio.
“We thank Mr Conaghan for his engagement with the insurance broking profession and for the constructive relationships he built during his tenure. We wish him well in his continuing parliamentary work,” Mr Klipin said.
NIBA remains committed to working collaboratively with Government, the Opposition, and regulators to ensure a well-functioning, accessible and competitive insurance market, underpinned by professional advice, that delivers value for consumers and supports national resilience.
