The Future of Broking Takes Centre Stage at the 2026 NIBA Convention
NIBA is delighted introduce a dedicated Young Professionals curated pathway at the upcoming Convention, marking the first time in the event's history that a stream of sessions and events has been curated specifically for the next generation of insurance leaders.
Three new and exciting experiences across the Convention weekend will connect, challenge, and inspire tomorrow’s broking leaders:
First Timers Event (Sunday evening) — A relaxed, welcoming event for those attending NIBA Convention for the first time. Delegates will have the opportunity to connect with fellow first-timers, meet NIBA committee members, and get orientated ahead of the main program.
Young Professionals Morning Masterclass (Monday morning) — A focused learning session for young professionals, facilitated by previous Young Broker of the Year award winners, designed to sharpen skills and spark conversation before the main program begins.
Young Professionals Night (Monday evening) — A relaxed networking evening to connect with peers and industry leaders in an informal setting.
“NIBA's Data to Direction research notes the depth of talent already shaping our profession's future. There is an opportunity to grow the pipeline of brokers aged 18 to 29. We're delighted to invest in a curated pathway for the next generation to connect, learn, and grow,” said NIBA CEO Richard Klipin.
The pathway will also feature dedicated breakout sessions on professional development for young brokers, including how brokers can communicate and demonstrate their value to clients, and how individual brokers can build a personal brand and reputation over time with both clients and insurers.
"Young professionals bring fresh thinking, genuine curiosity, and a willingness to challenge how things are done. That's exactly what a profession needs to be future ready. The NIBA Convention is the flagship event in the broking calendar and a unique opportunity for emerging brokers to engage with the best of our profession,” said NIBA President Nick Cook.
The 2026 NIBA Convention will be held at RACV Royal Pines on the Gold Coast from 18 to 20 October.
