Our thoughts are with everyone in North Queensland affected by the recent floods. With cleanup underway, here are some tips:
- Capture photos of any water-damaged or soaked items before removing them.
- Create a detailed list of damaged items, including the brand, model, and serial number.
- Avoid discarding items that can be repaired unless they pose a health risk.
- Consult with your insurance broker for assistance with the claims process.
The Insurance Council of Australia has reported that insurers have received more than 3,950 claims. The government has announced a range of grants and financial assistance for families, businesses and the wider community, including an $8 million Community Relief Fund.
