Past NIBA CEO receives Australia Day Honours

Former NIBA CEO, Dallas Booth has been appointed as a Member of the Order of Australia, in recognition of his service to the insurance industry and his community.  Mr Booth was among 1042 Australians who received national recognition for their service as part of the 2024 Australia Day  Honours List. 

In a statement to the media announcing the recipients, Governor-General David Hurley said, “Recipients have made a difference and had an impact at the local, national and/or international level. Individually, they are inspiring and collectively they speak to the strength of our communities.” 

Mr Booth has served the insurance industry for almost three decades, holding positions with the Asbestos Injuries Compensation Fund Limited,  Insurance Council of Australia, and most recently serving as the CEO of the National Insurance Brokers Association for ten years. In addition to his service to industry, Mr Booth also serves as the Chair of the Rotary International Regional Council.  

“This prestigious honour is a testament to Dallas’ many years of outstanding contributions to the insurance industry and serves as a reflection of the respect and admiration he garnered throughout his career” said NIBA CEO Phil Kewin. 

Among those who also received honours were mental health advocates, indigenous community leaders, doctors, and acclaimed authors.
