NIBA Announces the Winner of the 2026 NSW/ACT Broker of the Year Award

The National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) is thrilled to announce the winner of the CGU-partnered 2026 NSW/ACT Broker of the Year award.
The award was announced as part of the 2026 NIBA NSW Gala Lunch, attended by almost 550 professionals at The Fullerton Hotel, Sydney, on Wednesday, 08 July.
The CGU-partnered 2026 NSW/ACT Broker of the Year was awarded to Deb Gibson from Aon. The Broker of the Year celebrates the outstanding contributions of senior brokers to the profession and the wider community.
NIBA CEO Richard Klipin offered his congratulations to the NSW/ACT winner and acknowledged the finalists: “Congratulations to Deb on this outstanding achievement. We wish her every success heading into the national awards in October.”
“The finalists this year have gone above and beyond for their clients and made a genuine impact in their communities. They should all be proud of their efforts,” Richard added.
NIBA President Nick Cook noted the importance of the award program: “NIBA’s award program is an important platform to recognise the exceptional talent that is leading our profession towards being future ready.”
Karen Spear, Executive Manager, Customer Experience, CGU said, “Congratulations to Deb, our NSW/ACT Broker of the Year. Her expertise and integrity clearly set her apart as a standout senior broker, and that’s exactly the kind of ambition CGU is proud to champion.”
Deb will go on to compete for the national Broker of the Year award. The winner of the CGU-partnered Broker of the Year will be revealed at the upcoming 2026 NIBA Convention at the Gold Coast in October.
