The 2025 NIBA Convention Has Sold Out, Set to Attract a Record Turnout

Media Release

With more than 870 delegates expected, the 2025 NIBA Convention is officially sold out, marking a record post-Covid face-to-face turnout and underscoring the strength and engagement of a growing insurance broking community.

The NIBA Convention will host more than 50 speakers across 30 sessions and over 100 exhibitors. Kicking off this Sunday at RACV Royal Pines on the Gold Coast, itʼs an unmissable opportunity to engage with the breadth and diversity of the broking profession and wider insurance sector as
industry leaders address the future of insurance.2025 NIBA Convention Chair Lynette Walsh welcomed the record numbers.

“Weʼre absolutely thrilled to hit capacity. This is our strongest face-to-face turnout in the post-Covid era, and it speaks volumes about the energy and the appetite of our profession to come together, learn and shape change. Thank you to our delegates, partners, exhibitors, speakers and other
collaborators for helping us deliver a Convention that truly reflects a growing, engaged broking community,” Lynette said.

Exciting New Additions
This yearʼs NIBA Convention pairs a cutting-edge program with fresh features designed to foster connection and inspire new ways of thinking:

  • Fringe Stage: Debuting in the Convention Marketplace, this high-energy platform delivers short, sharp 15-minute pop-up presentations for maximum accessibility.
  • Morning Masterclasses: Early sessions bringing together industry leaders and subject-matter experts to tackle urgent issues for brokers and the broader ecosystem.
  • Three Full Days: For the first time, the Convention spans three full days of learning,
networking and social connection, beginning Sunday afternoon with a choice of three
    engaging social activities.
  • Wellness Hub: A new space for delegates to pause, recharge and reconnect with their
    wellbeing between sessions.

Giving Back to Communities
NIBA is proud to partner with The Gidget Foundation and The Pat Cronin Foundation as Convention charity partners.  “This is an opportunity to give back to the communities that support us,” NIBA CEO Richard Klipin said.

“Aligning the NIBA Convention with a charitable initiative extends broking values of care and service to the broader community,” Richard added.

Celebrating Top Talent Across the Profession and the Insurance Sector
The Convention will recognise excellence across the broking profession and insurance sector, reflecting a shared commitment to elevating professionalism. Eight award winners will be unveiled, including: the Vero-partnered NIBA Young Broker of the Year, CGU-partnered NIBA Broker of the Year,
Sedgwick-partnered NIBA Claims Broker of the Year, Liberty Specialty Markets-partnered NIBA Community Excellence Member of the Year, Large General Insurer of the Year, Specialty Insurer of the

“The NIBA Convention is the place where the community comes together as the one united voice of the sector,” Richard said. “Itʼs a platform for our insurance broking profession to showcase its commitment to uphold the highest standards of professionalism.”

The NIBA Convention kicks off on Sunday, 19 October.
