Pathways to Professionalism

Developing the Next Generation

September 2026
PPT 768x768 v4

Where Ready or Reacting? Shaping the Future of the Broking Profession set the profession's strategic roadmap, Complexity to Clarity: The Broker Advantage delivered client-led evidence of the broker's value, and Data to Direction: Insights from the General Insurance Broking Profession mapped the profession's scale and structure, Pathways to Professionalism turns to the people who will carry it forward: how the next generation of brokers is found, trained and developed. Drawing on responses from brokers across Australia, APRA industry data, and international benchmarks, it offers a definitive view of where the profession stands today and the strategic foundations already in place for the decade ahead.

Produced in partnership with QBE and insights from CoreData, the report draws on responses from brokers across roles, age groups and business sizes. It provides the profession's first detailed evidence base for building deliberate career and education pathways.

“We've set the agenda, proven the value, and measured the scale. Now we're turning to the foundation that sustains all of it: the people. If broking is to remain a modern, trusted advisory profession, we need to be as deliberate about developing the next generation of brokers as we are about advocating for them," said NIBA CEO Richard Klipin.
