Thank you for joining the National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) as a Principal Member.

We're delighted to welcome your brokerage to Australia's peak body for insurance brokers and look forward to supporting you and your team throughout your membership.

Your Membership Responsibilities

Insurance Brokers Code of Practice

As a subscribing Principal Member, your brokerage is committed to upholding the Insurance Brokers Code of Practice.

The Insurance Brokers Code Compliance Committee (IBCCC), the independent body responsible for monitoring compliance with the Code, will contact you separately to introduce their role and the support available to your brokerage, including the opportunity to arrange a virtual onboarding session.

Continuing Professional Development (CPD)

Client servicing staff and brokers are required to complete 25 CPD points each year in accordance with the NIBA CPD Standard.

NIBA provides a wide range of CPD-accredited learning opportunities to help your team meet these requirements. Your brokerage may also be selected to participate in NIBA's CPD audit program.

As a Principal Member, your brokerage is part of a professional association committed to maintaining high standards across the insurance broking profession. Your membership is governed by the NIBA Constitution and Rules, which set out the rights and responsibilities of membership.

Professional Designations

Professional Designations

Eligible members can apply for NIBA's recognised professional designations, including Qualified Practising Insurance Broker (QPIB) and Fellow. These nationally recognised designations demonstrate professional expertise, experience and a commitment to the highest standards of insurance broking.

Need a Broker

NIBA's Need a Broker referral service connects consumers and businesses with qualified insurance brokers across Australia.

Brokerages with at least one Qualified Practising Insurance Broker (QPIB) on staff may be eligible to be listed on the service, helping generate referrals and raise the profile of your brokerage.
