Are you NIBA’s inaugural Claims Broker of the Year?
The inaugural NIBA Claims Broker of the Year award, sponsored by Sedgwick, is currently open for nominations. The award is aimed at recognising excellence in claims management and is specially designed for those members working in a brokerage who consistently demonstrate outstanding claims performance.
Adam Squire, Head of Claims at Gallagher and NIBA Board Director explains the significance of this inaugural award and the need to reward the excellent work that claims brokers do.
“Claims is the moment of truth for every broking client,” he says.
“Claims brokers are dealing with clients when something has gone wrong, so their ability to help clients through a problem is vital. Claims is a key part of the value that brokers add to their clients so it’s important to recognise those professionals who spend most of their time supporting clients in these roles.”

What are the judges looking for in a strong application?
Mr Squire outlines the key attributes that the judges are after in a strong submission.
“The judges are looking for a claims professional who brings the promise given to clients to life,” he says.
“They will be seen by colleagues as someone who can be relied upon and will always have time to help colleagues. This exemplary claims professional will go above and beyond to see if the claim they’re tackling is a symptom of something more systemic and run hard at trying to solve that. Insurers, adjusters and lawyers will respect them and take them seriously, making them an ambassador for the broking profession.”
When will entries close?
The award is accepting applications and entries until the end of this month, 30 August. If you or someone you know is a great fit for this award, submit your application today so you don’t miss out.
