Meet the eligibility criteria
As you're crafting your application, it's important to check that you meet the eligibility criteria for the award. For your application to be considered, you:
Must be a NIBA member working in insurance.
Must spend at least 75% of your time in a claims-specific role.
Can either apply yourself or be nominated by a colleague.
Tips on crafting a strong application
Below are four things to highlight in your application that the judges will do. This will help underline the strength of your application.
Claims Advocacy in Action: Ensure you've demonstrated how you've effectively advocated for clients during the claims process.
Technical Competence in Insurance Claims: Provide strong examples of your technical expertise and its application in claims handling.
Strength of Client and Underwriter Relationships: Illustrate how you've built and maintained strong relationships with clients and underwriters.
Improvement in Claims Process and Practice: Highlight any improvements you've made that have led to better client outcomes. This could be through examples from multiple claims or through a single claim.
What happens after I’ve submitted my application?
Applications will be reviewed and shortlisted based on the answers provided to the 4 main areas outlined above. If you’re shortlisted, you will participate in a video interview with a 3-person judging panel. An interview guide and suggested question set will be provided.
