Find out what’s in store for our Young Broker of the Year Award winners

The 2024 Young Broker of the Year Award celebrates the young leaders of tomorrow, shining a spotlight on exceptional brokers under the age of 35. Nominations for the award are currently open, and Vero, who has been supporting the award for over 30 years, has an exciting program in store for the winners.

The award recognises five state winners from – NSW/ACT, Vic/Tas, SA/NT, WA and Qld. One national winner is picked from these state winners, who will be revealed at the October 2024 NIBA Convention held in Adelaide. The national winner walks home with the prestigious Warren Tickle Trophy, named in honour of the late Insurance Commissioner.

Moreover, with Vero’s support, all state winners will participate in a four-week professional development program. They will also receive a full delegate pass to the 2024 NIBA Convention and participate in the Vero Young Brokers Alumni Experience. As part of this experience, the state finalists and past alumni lend their support to a local community affected by a major flood event.

As part of an earlier Alumni Experience, the finalists travelled to Kempsey, a small town in NSW, helping the community get back on their feet after it had been impacted by bushfires in 2019 and major flooding in 2022. You can watch what the previous alumni had to say about this project here.

The national winner revealed at the Convention will receive a tailored learning experience valued at $10,000, thanks to Vero. Some previous winners have maximised the learning and development opportunity by going to London to get more into the international broking market and completing a study program at the Yale School of Management in the USA.

If someone in your team or network deserves to be recognised for their talent, professionalism and commitment to the community, take a few minutes to submit a nomination today. This year, you can also self-nominate. So, if you hold yourself to the highest standards of professionalism, why not throw your hat in the ring?
